Lost gloves I, II . Bronze & Enamel. Edition 8. 2017.

Throughout my travels, still to this day, I come across many solitary gloves. I wander how the narrative of these inanimate objects suddenly changes once they are void of their counterpart, free from their utilitarian purpose.
A lost single glove.
This ongoing project explores the notion of anonymity within the urban and rural hierarchies. Bronze casting is a classical medium in the art world. Amongst high brow society, to own a bronze sculpture or to have ones bust cast in bronze is a sign of status and wealth. Many of the gloves I have found are functional workers gloves I became interested in ‘immortalizing’ the anonymous blue collar worker, that once inhabited the glove.
